Kids who are into fashion, style, and making videos will love learning about how to make a fashion film. Students will gain inspiration from fashion film viewings that feature fashion in fun and unique ways. We’ll have the experience of working with an industry model and be filming with a rising fashion model. Kids will do simple editing with their footage to have something to share with their peers in a film viewing on the big screen.

Fuchsia Lin is a filmmaker, costume/fashion designer, and artist who has created commissioned work for Wieden+Kennedy and has had her fashion design worn by Bjork. Fuchsia is currently in production on her fashion/dance film, Future Cosmos Flow, a Regional Arts and Culture Council (RACC) grant awarded project. Fuchsia creates films featuring her own couture costumes/fashion designs made from sustainable materials. She uses her art as a dynamic tool to promote water environmentalism. Fuchsia holds a Fashion Design degree from Parsons School of Design in New York City, and worked in Paris in the fashion industry. She also has extensive experience working in the costume production industry building costumes for Broadway shows and the American Ballet Theatre. Fuchsia was a recipient of a scholarship award from UK’s Aesthetica Magazine/Short Film Festival and a RACC grant to study Fashion Filmmaking at the London College of Fashion, one of two schools in the world that offers a fashion filmmaking program.
